i just had my baby last wed. I was wondering if it’s okay to start on some pilates. I am feeling good, didn’t have any complications during or after birth. Natural delivery. I’ve always loved working out..in fact I worked out up until my 8th month of pregnancy..so I wanted to know if you think it’ll be okay to do a little bit of core strenghtning..most of the workout is on the floor, nothing streneous. I don’t see my doctor until Feb.6th

No, not yet. In a couple more weeks. You can feel fine, and technically you are, but at this point you can still hemorrhage and bleed to death as your uterus is still recovering.
Thats why they tell you things like dont climb stairs all day, and remain still and calm. Your body really does need time to heal- the insides.
I would say no, especially working out your core…I would say just doing some simple leg and arm stretches would work (I don’t know much about pilates so excuse my stupidity
). Your body is still in recovery even though you do feel fine…just rest and then once you get the okay from your doctor you can go to town working out! I did after seeing the doctor and I was able to knock off all that preggo weight.
you really should wait for your body to heal and let your doc check you first. you may feel fine but childbirth takes a tole on your muscles and they need time to rest. after only a week your cervix isnt even closed yet and doesnt need to be stretched any more right now. you could risk damaging something is you start too early.
yes its fine at the hospital if you can recall before you left they gave you some papers about your body and like told you don’t lift anything heavier than the baby and such such for the first week. go get those papers on it it will tell you light exercising in the 2nd week is fine.
doctors recommend holding off on any type of physical activity till 6 weeks post-partum.
there is a reason that you are told to wait 6-8 weeks or your first appointment you could still have alot of problems that you don’t know about.
I would wait till you see your doctor and find out if everything is OK first
