Good Pregnancy Exercise Routines?

by Pregancy WorkOut DVD

I’ve found a lot of good yoga videos online for pregnancy workout, but I really want something that gets me sweating. I’ve been overindulging for the past couple of days so I really want to get a good workout. Anyone know of any good exercise routines while pregnant? Im only 8 weeks so not too far along yet, but I still want it to be safe. Thanks. Also if you know any really good ones on youtube, that would be best

don’t underestimate the efficiency of yoga during pregnancy. :) it may not make you break much of a sweat, but its very beneficial and more impact than you realize.
beyond that one of the best exercises is walking! swimming is also one of the very best exercises you can do while pregnant, but it is getting colder so unless you have access to a heated pool this may not be a possibility. stationary bikes can be good too, once you get bigger some of them are hard to use. hah
any kind of low impact cardio work out is going to be fantastic for all stages of pregnancy unless you are high risk. you can, at this point, still engage in some activities you may have enjoyed before pregnancy like tennis and such sports, but avoid exercises that have a risk of falling since your balance get a bit off kilter during pregnancy. also avoid exercises that bounce you around too much like horse back riding or trampolines.
i found a website, fitpregnancy.com that has a huuuuuuge list of exercise programs with videos and slide shows. it has yoga and indoor exercises as well as other more involved exercise programs.

Walking up hills and stairs (like at a football stadium) would be good. You do not want to do any weight lifting over your head, but if you have been working out a little before you got pregnant, you can do some light lifting of dumbbells up to your chin level. MOST IMPORTANT; call your doctor and ask him/her what their opinion is about the types of exercise you can safely do!

Get some 5 lb weights and stretch. You shouldn’t jog if you hadn’t jogged before you were pregnant. I got one of those big Exercise balls which did wonders both with keeping a normal shape and when it came to back pain and so on. you could ride a exercise bike. then you’re sitting and working up a sweat with no strain to your stomache, or back

I did a step class until I was about 6months along. I just modified it so I wasn’t bouncing too much. When the instructor told us to dig in or go faster, I just kept at my own pace and still got a good work out. The weight came off REALLY easy after giving birth. Good luck!

I bought one called Fit Mama with Leisa heart. It was great before I was told I couldn’t exercise anymore with my twins!
