I gained about 40 lbs when I got married and now I’m having a very hard time getting the weight off. I own an elliptical machine and Taebo videos and yoga videos but I have a 3 yr old son who likes to (sit on me/act out) when I try to workout. My husband and I are planning to get pregnant around August or September and I would really like to get my weight down as much as possible before the pregnancy. I also would like to be able to continue to workout during pregnancy. Can anyone help me design a workout that will help me achieve my goal?

go on walks with your son, or play with him outside. that way he has something to do and you both are being active. if that doesn’t work the only thing i could think of is to get him out of the house (baby sitting? child care? play dates?)
Losing weight is a simple equation: if you burn more calories than you eat, the weight will come off. Start off by estimating how many calories you burn each day using the daily calorie needs calculator http://calorieneedscalculator.com This will give you an idea of how many calories to eat. Healthy weight loss is 1-2 pounds per week. To lose 1 pound per week you need to create a calorie deficit (burn more than you eat) of 500 calories per day. To lose 2 pounds a week, you have to double the deficit to 1000 calories per day. You can achieve this by eating less, exercising more or a combination of both.
