I have ballooned up to 170. I am 5’6 female. I used to weigh in at 125-130. I have not lost the weight from my second pregnancy and I also quit smoking. I desperately want to lose weight-however I love chees,I love pasta, and I love breads and I am NOT going to give up the food I love to lose weight when I ate it constantly before I ever gained weight, but I am going to excercise daily. My idea is to walk a mile each morning and then later on do one of my workout videos including “the firm”, “turbo jam” and “envy girls workouts that really count” doing this daily how long do you think it will take me to lose 40 lbs? If you have followed this type of routine and lost weight how long did it take you? I am sorry but I am not a health food person, I do not eat a lot of candy or junk.

*high fives* NEVER give up the foods you love, you will only fail in losing weight by diet. I am a certified personal trainer, i love pasta (Italian) i love bread, and alone the Italian heritage eat 8X’s more pasta then the American society and they are not overweight. The “key” is PORTIONS.
Girl im your height and weigh a healthy muscular 124 lbs, and i eat all the pasta i want. You can do it! and with proper portion control and exercise you will get back to your old body. With pregnancy woman can lose weight fast, i am not sure if you just had a baby, but you can still lose that weight.
For foods, you can still keep the pasta, but change to whole wheat pasta there is very little change in flavor, and its a better solution. Cheese is fine, as long as its portioned and you can also try reduced fat cheeses (again not much change in flavor) Add foods such as turkey, chicken, and fish such as salmon or tuna, Omega 3 fatty acids and lean meats as i listed help you burn more of those calories off as well as help your muscles repair with the amount of protein thats given in those foods. Fruits make for good sweet substitutes they are healthy and they has a sweetness to curve some cravings. watermelon, oranges, grapes, berries, are all good options. Veggies are very essential for nutrients and vitamins, and most veggies are great sources for you. If you choose to have sweets at some point a small serving size is all you need.
Limit your meals to 5 small meals a day, around 350-450 calories per meal. The more smaller meals you eat the faster your metabolism gets. Drink plenty of fluids mostly water.
For exercise walking is a wonderful start. Change your patterns of cardio every other week. Hit a hilly area, Hit a flat area, walk it in the other direction, and or ride a bike a path. You can pick up running when your in better shape for it and run up hill or flat land. Every little bit of changing your workout will help you. Add light hand weights too for added muscle activity.
At some point it will be good to look into lifting weights, the more muscle you can put on your body the better off you will be, muscles will burn more fat, boost your metabolism, and muscle is denser then fat, so you will look leaner. Your weight will flucuate but you will watch yourself shed the pounds.
Good Luck!
3 weeks of eating healthy and 1 hr of brisk walking a day. i lost a total of 20lbs and i’m back to my normal weight!:)
good luck
well. as they6 all say results may very. what did you do to help you lose weight. do you feel u lost weight. ask ur doctur for more information
All the things you love to eat have a lot of fat and carbs, BUT it’s all about moderation. Weight Watchers worked for me and it took me about 6-7 months to lose about 30 lbs. I never felt like I was deprived of the foods I liked (just had to be careful of how much). Walking is great cardio and if you can increase your cardio/strengthening exercises, and watch what you eat (be careful of that cheese and bread and pasta–lots of carbs and calories) you should be able to start losing weight slowly. Also, this might give you some good tips. http://buzz.prevention.com/positively-re…
